Reece Oxford
Will he feature tonight? Hasn't featured at all this season, even when ye like thin on the ground for his position. Anyone heard anything about him recently? We don't seem to be trying very hard to convince him to stay.

Re: Reece Oxford
I have it as FACT that he won't be taking any part tonight.

I'm hoping he gets a game tomorrow though.

Re: Reece Oxford
He's not going to sign a new contract, so they don't want to play him. Seems pretty simple really.

Massive attitude problem and huge chip on shoulder that is common with 'that' lot

Re: Reece Oxford
I must say, even though he's obviously a talent, I have seen nothing special from his performances so far compared to other youngsters that have made it here. He hasn't ever really stood out for me as much as his reputation would suggest.

I'd be less than bothered if we were to get 10 or so mill for him as I've been more impressed with BURKE so far anyway.

Fucking hell, Pee Wee.

Re: Reece Oxford
Its all a bit weird considering how Jack Sullivan wrote an article on him 2 days ago saying how he will be a starter for us for years to come.

What?

Young Footballers are well known for having chips on their shoulder

Re: Reece Oxford
Needs to sign a contract and then go on loan somewhere and play some serious football.
Wake me up when that happens.

He is 17. If he is as good as he appears to think he should be dominating Development team games.
Those on here that watch the junior teams seem to unanimous that he isn't progressing as he should be and is more hype than reality.
Progression at this age is as much about attitude and professionalism as it is talent.

Re: Reece Oxford
Yeah he should be out on loan in my opinion. Burke had a blinder last season by all accounts.

40-50 games games in League 1 or Championship would do Oxford a lot of good.

I like his style but he played a few mental passes and I think he needs to bulk up a little

Shame Burke isn't around now, I think he'd do the business in a back 3. I reckon a season in the prem and he'll get on the brink of an england call up. i rate him that highly.

Re: Reece Oxford
The lad wants first team football. Dont think he ever said he should be in the starting 11 for us. Crying out for a loan move which we don't seem to give him.

If he wants to go I don't blame him. Just hope he don't make the silly mistake many other young, talented, unproven English players make and that is sign for a big club just to fill their home grown quota.

Re: Reece Oxford
Reece Burke is doing it right
Excellent season in league one at Bradford and has now stepped up to the Championship at Wigan.
Will learn lots and do a lot of defending in a team that is towards the bottom and toughen up physically.
Next season he will be ready to step into Collins squad spot.

Re: Reece Oxford
I thought we were looking to loan him out up north but either didn't want to or wasn't allowed to leave mummy's side.

Sadly he is being told by his parents how great he is and believes he should have made it. Rather than making snidey comments on social media he should concentrate on working hard and showing the right attitude.

doesn't sound like Slav is planning to manyu changes

He said: “It’s not Wednesday-Saturday, we play Everton on Sunday. So we are going to play a very strong team and try and get through.

Sven Roeder 1:43 Tue Oct 25
Re: Reece Oxford
Cresswell is available and Ayew hopefully will at least be ready for the bench.
Will be a stronger team than last Saturday

Re: Reece Oxford
He's totally indicative of the types that Guardiola is trying to stop in their tracks.

The big ego youngsters that wear the flash boots, the earrings, the latest hairstyles...before they have made a name for themselves in the first team.

Is that "that lot" Pee Wee !?!

Re: Reece Oxford
Just looking up Reece Burke and can it possibly be true that we have loaned both him and Knoyle to the same club Wigan? Both RB/CB? How can that possibly make any sense?

Eggbert Nobacon 2:04 Tue Oct 25
Re: Reece Oxford
Knoyle is a right back who has on occasion played in the middle
Burke is a centre back who has on occasion playe don th eright

I'm not sure what your confusion is

Re: Reece Oxford
On Oxford and young players in general, I have no faith that Bilic has any interest in developing them at all. He played Oxford out of desperation at the start of last season.

My opinion is that the club needs to move away from pragmatists as managers and towards coaches who take a more holistic view on the squad. And an infrastructure that supports that approach. The club's approach is close enough to rotten at the moment, as far as I can tell.
